Sovereign Scepter is a work of fiction created from historical records of events during the time of China's Qin dnasty. Shihuangdi, King Zichu, Queen Zhao Ji, Fu Su, Hu Hai, Chao Kao, Li Si, Jing Ki and Mein Tien were real people. All other characters are imagined.

If you like novels that feature romance, lots of interesting characters, intricate and complex plotting, with large doses of exotic history, you will enjoy Sovereign Scepter. The story deals with relationships among characters who lived previous lives in ancient China the plot and moves back and forth between the present and China's Qin dynasty. Ms. Peterson, who has traveled to China on numerous occasions, has certainly done her research; she brings the Chinese episodes to life in vivid detail -- both those set in modern times and those in the past. Having published several books of poems, her poet's touch is apparent throughout. A lovely and touching work!
